It’s Kesha
Hi! I am a reformed scientist turned full-time wife and mom of two college kids! I love to share and often overshare my love of travel, healthy living, decorating and organizing, and intentional parenting! Raised in Dallas, Texas, and now a Georgia Peach, I am a certified city girl and sports fanatic. In my “free” time, you can find me in one of my many roles as a Super Volunteer! Married to my college sweetheart, I have spent over 21 years adjusting and readjusting to life as an intentional parent! My time with our college-aged daughter and son has been a time of discovering shared loves of kitchen dance parties, the Dallas Cowboys, R&B, old school, and gospel music. Adapting to life as they navigated high school and college has afforded countless teachable moments! The Last First Day was birthed out of my evolving role as a parent of high school children to college drop-off! The emotions around a series of “last” experiences and the preparation required to navigate new norms as a college parent are worth sharing!
a few quirks I embrace…
- I’ll watch any sport except hockey, but I have little to no coordination to play a single sport!
- Trained as a chemist and epidemiologist, I sometimes see life as a science project.
- If I could eat Mexican food daily and would never tire of it.
- I am a math and science geek and creative all rolled into one person.
- Parenting is the best job I have ever said yes to!
